seeing a lot of “why would i reblog anything i don’t have something to add” like
sir this is the user-circulated content site
a handful of notes from one post of about half a dozen to cross my dash recently:
and from the notes on this post
Literally if you don’t reblog things you like?
THEY STOP HAPPENING
likes = 0 engagement
Likes is “bookmarked”
Liked is ‘left on read’
I feel like these comments imply that reblogging is more difficult than reblogging? So maybe they just don’t know about quick reblog, in which case, (on mobile anyway) you just need to hold down the reblog button for a second
Just a reblog = YOU SHARE IT! IT GETS SEEN BY MORE PEOPLE WAHOOOO
Reblog plus post-related tag to sort stuff out:l = YOU SHARED IT WAHOO MORE PEOPLE SEE IT! ALSO you can f8nd it on your own blog later! Neat!
Reblog plus nice tags/comments: YOU. SHARED. IT WAHOOOO MORE PPL SEE IT! Also op sees a nice message, nice bonus! :D
“I don’t want to spam my friends”
My guy… This is the spam your friends website what the fuck are you doing having your friends follow you if they can’t get behind your weird niche interests? They can fuck off, this is YOUR blog for YOUR niche interests
Tumblr isn’t a bulletin board with a few gems tacked to it, it’s the drawer in your dresser where you pile all your paperclips, fidget toys, pocket knives, random unopened pieces of candy, and the rubix cube you never learned how to solve
i have an opposite of bullying technique every artfight where i sniff out ppl who are like 13 and i mass compliment their stuff w a drawing. everyone should do this. get your friends to do it, like a biker gang
i articulated this rather sloppily so, agreeing with people in the tags, encouraging kids with ocs from fandoms you may have grown up with that were seen as “cringey” is incredibly cathartic. giving art to beginner or struggling artists boosts their spirit during artfight as well. you or a group of your friends showing anyone who might be ignored because of their interests or their skill not being “good enough” that You Care is just a cool thing to do and will probably make your younger self happy too. if you have the time, go for it!
making fun of ppl with disorganized speech or trouble articulating themself or lots of typos or anything else isn’t funny actually
calling someone stupid for using a wrong word in place of a similar word, saying someones typos are “homestuck speech,” complaining about someone with an aac device “taking too long” to say something, making fun of someone stuttering or mumbling, none of it is funny at all
Just a heads up to everyone that is the outdated version of the disability pride flag, that version was causing people eyestrain triggered migraines and in some cases risked seizures. So the original creator edited the design and the current disability pride flag looks like this

that’s right! it’s research traditional methods of moroccan architecture, which follow strict mathematic structures and formulas to create stunning tilework and arches, often also utilizing a special form of clay endemic to morocco famed for its sculptural qualities which are difficult and even impossible to reproduce in other regions! additionally, the cultural significance of the various motifs and colors used throughout moroccan architecture, both in religious and in secular buildings, are distinct and highly formalized, honed over many h
FUCK YEAH MOROCCAN ARCHITECTURE
have you looked into muqarnas yet?
yes! i was actually referencing muqarnas when speaking about the clay! morocco’s carved clay and plaster muqarnas are famous for their intricacy and detailed fretting!
Sometimes muqarnas are carved wood. Regardless, Moroccan architecture is ABSOLUTELY BONKERS.
The Union Solidarity Coalition has been formed by WGA members to start helping those in other unions affected by the strike. Look this over and pass it on…
The highlighted portions are good, but I also really like this line:
“People do not go to war for abstract theories of government. They fight for property and privilege and that was what Virginia fought for in the Civil War.”
It’s not “everyone” acting like it’s normal. The majority of people know something’s wrong they just don’t have the tools to fix it. Maybe a plurality don’t know that the problem is capitalism, they blame it on something else, but they’re still aware there’s a problem. “Everyone” is just too exhausted from working 4 jobs, 50 hours a week to scream into the void in their spare time.
Remembering the time my old nb roommate who went to an LGBT law conference and was heaping the absolute biggest bitchfit texting me cause “some cis guy” was talking about trans people and trans men in particular and my roommate refused to listen to what this guy said cause “why should I listen to him” and I said “are you sure he’s cis?” And then towards the end of the presentation he said something that indicated to the crowd he was a trans man and then suddenly my roommate started to consider what had been shared.
Absolute loser behavior, but not completely unique. We’ve all gotta stop saying only x people can talk about x issues for us to listen. Too many people in the in group will have dogshit takes no one wants to challenge because “well, they are x identity.” Likewise, plenty of people on the out group actually know what they’re talking about and have something to contribute to the conversation.
Especially when it comes to sexuality and gender, you relying on someone outing themselves or you clocking them to decide whether their words have merit is shitty, because you won’t always know if they ARE the group “allowed” to talk about it. And even beyond that, I knew a fuckload about transness before I realized I was trans, it helped me REALIZE I was trans. “Listen to x voices” got sooooo warped in the discourse.
Happy Disability Pride Month! This goes to the visibly disabled people, the invisible disabled people, the chronically ill, the mentally ill, the chronic pain patients, the chronic fatigue patients, any spoonie out there. You deserve love and care. You’re worth it. You have value.
As a bisexual person I’m keenly aware of how such stereotypes are inevitably harmful to us, but unfortunately when I see bisexuals in fiction who are Evil and stylish and fuck like champions I can’t help but go “oh work” for a sec. It’s a difficult conundrum
Oh this is circulating without context again. OP is Indian and they were shocked by this because in India most, if not all, food labels are in English because of British colonialism. So he was just surprised to see a country whose native language is still the primary language of communication. This isn’t a ‘stupid American’ thing it’s actually pretty sad!!
